The Story Behind Lynnette January
Every custom piece begins with a story. Here's ours.
Every great piece begins with a purpose. Ours began with a little girl who couldn't find clothes that fit—and years later, a woman searching for a beautiful bra after a double mastectomy.
My love of sewing began in junior high school Home Economics, where I first discovered that a few pieces of fabric could be transformed into something both beautiful and useful. I enjoyed sewing, but I never imagined it would one day become my calling.
Years later, that love of creating became practical when my daughter was preparing to start kindergarten. She was so petite that children's clothing simply didn't fit. Size 5 was too large, but 5T was too small. So I bought a sewing machine, found a pattern, and made her clothes myself. They fit perfectly. That experience taught me something I've carried with me ever since: when the stores don't make what you need, you can create it yourself.
From there, I sewed whatever my family needed—from custom blackout curtains to household projects—always enjoying the challenge of making something that fit a specific purpose.
The turning point came years later while I was doing the lash extensions of a longtime client. During her appointment, she shared that she had undergone a double mastectomy. Surprisingly, she wasn't talking about the surgery itself. What frustrated her most was that she couldn't find beautiful bras that fit her body anymore.
I thought about our conversation for a few moments before finally telling her, "I can make you a bra."
And that's exactly what I did.
That single project changed everything.
It opened my eyes to the countless women who struggle every day to find bras that truly fit—whether because they wear larger cup sizes like G, J, K, or M, have breast asymmetry, have undergone surgery, or simply don't fit the limited sizing offered by most manufacturers. Even when they do find their size, they're often forced to choose between comfort and beauty.
I believe women shouldn't have to settle.
Today, I specialize in creating custom bras designed around the woman—not the size chart. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted to provide exceptional fit, support, comfort, and confidence while reflecting each client's personal style. Whether it's an everyday bra, a bridal piece, post-surgical lingerie, or a complete matching set, my goal is simple: to create intimate apparel that feels as beautiful as it looks.
Because every woman deserves a bra made for her.
